Organized by Performance Køkkenet in the Faroe Islands, the project aims to create a perspective that involves the environment and the context in the creative process of performance art. Planning meetings, workshops, discussions and doing art together, to strength the nexus between art and community. Furthermore, artists and new audiences have to re-think the relation with nature as the basis of awareness. Nature as part of the everyday life and the beginning of the construction of the identity in special locations as the places were the project will happen.
The Faroe Islands will host the project from the 8th to the 14th of July. During one week, international artists will meet with Faroese artists, farmers and cultural developers, with the aim of sharing knowledge through their disciplines. The methodology of the encounters will be a collaborative workshop that ends in public performance art actions. Those workshops will happen in farms and cultural centres along the Faroe Islands with a special focus on the places where there are sustainable projects. The artists will work together with local organizations as Slow Food Føroyar. With projects in Sandoy, Tvøroyri, Tórshavn and Gøta with a special collaboration with G! Festival. The principal idea is to make art in nature, involving cultural particularities as climate, economy, foodways and new audiences for art.
